Thrizer allows you to focus on you — not on the cost of therapy.

You may be able to save 50% or more on your sessions with me.

You may have out-of-network benefits that reimburse a portion of the session cost.

Thrizer will handle the insurance hassles for you.

No more insurance calls, no more checks in the mail.

Like most specialty providers, I am a private pay therapist. I do not partner with insurance companies because I do not want anyone else to dictate the way we work together.

Although I don’t accept insurance directly, I am insurance-friendly! Your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits to help fund your therapy journey, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of the session cost.

I’ve partnered with Thrizer to make it easier for you to verify & use your out-of-network benefits and automatically submit claims. They will manage the reimbursement process for you to save you the insurance headache. Once you meet your deductible, you receive reimbursements in a few weeks via direct deposit. You can create an account and get started at www.thrizer.com.

If you prefer not to use Thrizer, I am happy to provide you with a monthly superbill, so you can coordinate with your insurance company directly.

I'm ready for a breakthrough

Therapy is an investment…

of money, time, and trust.

I invite you to invest and commit to your healing just as hard as I invest and commit to you. I reserve an appointment time just for you. I give you my full attention and my expertise for every minute you show up, and beyond. When you become a client in my practice, you become a person in my life whose psyche is under my care and responsibility. I limit how many clients I work with in a week because I am committed to providing excellent care, preventing my own burnout, and ensuring that I can remain a therapist for the long haul.

I understand that your difficulties call for someone to help you face the unfaceable. Clients who work with me do this and go on to achieve levels of peace, confidence, and the ability to re-engage with people and life – things that they thought would take decades to attain. I am able to do this because I am direct and challenging when needed, I am slow and gentle when needed, and I can discern the difference. I do not get distracted. I do not let clients’ trauma, dysfunction, or stuckness run the hour.

Being a therapist is my soul’s calling. And I know what it means for therapy to cost you, because it also costs me to listen to my inner depths, to be open to receiving healing, and to preserve my wellbeing for my own sake and for the sake of doing this work. I know that your growth rests upon my wellness and my previous and present inner work. You will be in good hands with me.

There is a vast difference in clinical acumen and personal wellness among mental health therapists. Great therapists are worth every penny and more. I want to help you unearth everything that gets in the way of you being the person you’re meant to be.

Frequently Asked Questions:
About the Consultation Call & the Experience of Therapy

  • I offer therapy services online to residents throughout Pennsylvania.

I host my sessions through a HIPAA and PIPEDA secure online location.

  • I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis.

I may recommend that we increase or decrease the frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.

For example, I commonly work with clients on a twice a week or every other week basis. I also work with clients as needed on an intensive basis.

  • Before scheduling a therapy session, I do a free 20-minute intro call with all potential new clients. This gives us the chance to get to know each other. Here’s what you can expect:

    • I’ll ask you about why you’re seeking therapy

    • I’ll tell you a bit about myself and my approach as a therapist

    • We can talk about which specific service I offer might be the best fit for your needs — (ongoing individual therapy, extended sessions, or therapy intensives)

    • You can ask me any questions that I didn’t cover

    • We’ll talk about rates, insurance, availability, etc.

  • If we both decide we're a good fit after our intro call, we'll schedule our first therapy appointment. I'll send you a couple of quick forms to complete before our first session. I'll also send you a link for our video calls that you can use every week.

  • As a therapist, I have a very intuitive and co-creative approach to pacing the work. My style tends to be very slow, spacious, and welcoming of the quiet… but that doesn’t mean my attention isn’t also sharp and focused!

And you will get to experience that from the very beginning. In your first session, I drop many of the traditional questions that therapists ask at first, because I believe you have ample time beyond the initial session to tell your stories and get into your history.

My goals in session one are to focus on the present & the future:

    • Set the therapeutic tone: mindful, attentive, and grounded

    • Learn about the issue that is calling you into therapy

    • Understand the various areas and relationships of your life where this issue is causing disruption

    • Get your ideas about what you think is causing the problem

    • Be curious about what you have done with this problem in the past

    • Orient toward your goals and to flesh out the approach you want to take toward this problem now

  • I understand that schedules can change. Please try as best as you can to inform me as soon as possible if there is a scheduling conflict.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Clients will be charged the full fee for cancelled or rescheduled sessions with less than 24 hours’ notice. A session that is not attended and was not provided with a cancellation/reschedule notice, also referred to as a no-show, will also be charged the session full fee.

NOTE: currently no longer accepting individual therapy clients

  • EMDR Therapy Extended Session:

    90 minutes: $285

  • EMDR Intensives:

  • I do not accept insurance at this time; therefore, you would be responsible for the cost of the session upfront.

However, I am happy to provide you a superbill (itemized receipt of services) as needed for reimbursement. Many insurance companies provide out-of-network reimbursements for mental health services. I encourage you to check with your insurance provider to understand what reimbursement options may be available.

  • During our consultation call, I can verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much you would have left on your deductible.

If you prefer to learn about your OON benefits yourself before you schedule a consultation call, I recommend calling the Member Services number on the back of your health insurance card.

These questions may be helpful to ask:

    • Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health coverage?

    • Am I able to use these benefits for telehealth?

    • What is my out-of-network deductible?

    • How much of my deductible has been met this year?

    • Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?

    • What percentage of outpatient psychotherapy sessions are covered per session?

    • How much will I be reimbursed for

    1. Intake session (CPT code: 90791)

    2. 60-minute psychotherapy session (CPT code: 90837)

    • How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?

    • How long does it take for me to receive reimbursement?

  • Working with an out-of-network provider can offer significant benefits, particularly when seeking specialized or personalized healthcare.

I have more flexibility in my approach and treatment options (e.g. lengths of service, frequency of service), allowing me to tailor therapy to your unique needs without the constraints of insurance requirements.

This flexibility leads to a higher quality of care, as the focus remains on what is clinically best for you rather than what is covered by insurance.

Choosing an out-of-network provider gives you more control in selecting a therapist whose expertise, style, and values align with your personal values, leading to a more meaningful and effective therapeutic experience.

  • Insurance puts constraints on how people should heal.

Cutting edge research and practice shows that EMDR and extended session lengths lead to faster symptom reduction and relief. In my case, when I trained in EMDR and saw the evidence of how longer session times lead to and actually cut overall length of treatment short, my decision to offer powerful services despite insurances’ reasons not to cover them was made for me.

Frequently Asked Questions:
About the Practice

  • In my practice, I offer extended sessions for my clients because healing from complex trauma, chronic anxiety, or persistent dysfunctional patterns often asks both client and therapist to go beyond the traditional hour.

  • Research has shown that, for people who have experienced complex post-traumatic stress, extended sessions promote lasting reduction of trauma symptoms.

I want not just trauma survivors to experience healing at this level, but also people whose anxiety disorders, OCD, depression, or addictions have a root in an unresolved disturbing memory to experience this healing, too.

A single intensive could be a game-changer for your healing journey. I have observed in my clients that even a single half-day intensive allows them to get unstuck from going around in the same circles, and that intensives provide a sturdy foundation for any subsequent internal work and growth.

The personal answer? I have personally gone through multiple day-long trauma intensives that blended EMDR, Internal Family Systems, and somatic therapy to really break free from my complex trauma… and each intensive changed my life and allowed me to uncover and heal deeply buried issues faster than I could have ever imagined. As a therapist also trained in EMDR and Somatic IFS, how could I not offer them?
